Insurance Coverage/Insurance Defense

The firm provides legal services to insurers in the defense of both first-party and third-party claims. The firm handles matters ranging from multi-party product liability and environmental cases, general liability claims, automotive claims, liquor liability defense, defense of mass torts, including asbestos litigation, insurance coverage disputes, employment claims, complex business litigation, to the defense of professional liability claims. The firm represents insurance companies in first-party reference proceedings commenced under Mass. Gen. L. c. 175.

Subrogation

Subrogation enables insurance companies to recover funds from negligent parties who are liable and who should be held accountable. The firm has an extensive subrogation practice in a wide range of areas, including: fire damage, mold, water damage, freeze damage, construction defects, contractor negligence, environmental contamination, and workers’ compensation. Business Disputes

The firm handles the defense and prosecution of business disputes on both an hourly and, for appropriate cases, a contingent fee basis.  With respect to the usage of contingent fees in business disputes, the firm recognizes that, no matter how strong the claim may be, its business clients are sometimes hesitant to undertake litigation due to the expenses involved.  The firm’s contingent fee arrangement addresses this issue so that business clients pay no legal fee unless the firm is successful in recovering on your behalf.  We also offer a hybrid hourly/contingent fee arrangement wherein we prosecute the claim at a reduced hourly rate coupled with a reduced contingency fee.
